Things to Do in Galicia on a Rainy Day

Galicia has a charm that doesn’t fade with the rain—if anything, it transforms.

Raindrops falling on slate rooftops, mist wrapping around forests, the scent of wet earth… everything invites you to experience something unique, more intimate and authentic.

Because here, even grey days are full of magic.

Indoor activities for a rainy day

When the weather isn’t on your side, Galicia opens up new possibilities.

You can get lost in small but soulful museums like the Man Museum in Camelle, or explore the ocean without getting wet at the Aquarium Finisterrae in A Coruña.

Rainy days are also perfect for enjoying a traditional pulpo á feira indoors, paired with a glass of Albariño wine while you watch the rain fall outside the window.

Eating well: the perfect plan for a rainy day

If there’s one thing Galicia does well—rain or shine—it’s food.

Grey days are the perfect excuse to take shelter in a cosy tavern and treat yourself to a steaming bowl of caldo gallego, grilled scallops (zamburiñas), or a homemade Tarta de Santiago.

In Muxía and the surrounding area, you’ll find restaurants where traditional cuisine is served with care and a true sense of home.

And if you’re staying at the campsite, we’ll happily share our favourite spots—because at Lago-Mar, great food is part of the experience.

Visiting charming villages in the rain

Rain brings out the character of villages like Combarro, with its traditional granaries by the sea, or Mondoñedo, with its stone streets and Gothic cathedral.

And of course, Muxía—more mystical, wilder, and even more authentic under the rain.

Walking around the Sanctuary of A Barca while the sea crashes against the rocks is an experience that stays with you forever.

Rainy day activities at Camping Lago-Mar

At Lago-Mar, rain doesn’t stop the experience—it simply transforms it.

You can relax in your accommodation while watching the rain, come to the café for something warm, play cards, read a book, or enjoy a chat in our shared space.

Here, every day—rain or shine—is something special.
